Friday 29 April. Tobermory to Arisaig 26 nm

So .. first job of the morning, try to source camping gaz to replace the “ leaky” canister. We dinghied over to the pontoons and very fortunately the little garage just near the harbour office, had the gas we needed. J thought he also needed a new regulator and he could probably get that st Browns .. an old fashioned hardware store.. selling everything! Including whisky 🤔?! They didn’t have one 😑 soooo … he had to walk uphill ( vertically) to a building supplies industrial estate to get what he wanted. I meanwhile went to the bakery and bought something for breakfast. My other mission was to visit the Hebridean whale and dolphin trust( checking out some items for Alice) , and also purchase our little mascot for our adventure. Eventually getting back to the dinghy we made our way to Angelina, for coffee and 🥐. After saying our farewells, we made our way out past ardnamuchan point, towards our destination of Arisaig. We had a good sail to start but the wind died due to exceptionally high atmospheric pressure. It went as high as 1037 today… as high as we’ve ever seen. However the weather was beautiful and motoring up the sound of Sleat couldn’t have been more stunning. We arrived at Arisaig around high water which is the best plan since the channel shrinks to a minimum of 0.4 m at the lowest tide. Picking up a visitor mooring with a 10* strop on it , we then enjoyed the most beautiful evening. From here we can look out on the small isles across the sea, Rhum, Eigg, Muck and the Cuilins of Skye.

What I learned today …. to not secure the kettle fiddles so tight.. you can’t get the kettle out 😬
