Sunday 27 June Gallanach bay (Crinan) to puilladobhrain 15 nm

A very peaceful night and no wind in the morning. I went for a row in the Dinghy around the bay. A lorra lorra weed here too but otherwise sandy bottom. Little tiny fish all silvery darted about amongst the weed. I rowed over the very shallow bit between the little islands and there were loads of worm casts and razor clam shells.

We set off about 1 ish as we had to get the tides right going where we were. Dorus mor at the south end of Loch craignish is opposite coryvrecken and has to be navigated at slack water ( time when the tide starts going the other way) . We also wanted the tide to be with us going up the sound of Luing past Fladda lighthouse. As it happened we had a fantastic trip up …..the wind unusually was coming from the side so not only do you go quickly but you can also point the boat in the direction you want to go ( for a change!) even the sun was shining out of a blue sky. Going north past cuillapool and easedale, we are happy to be back in a familiar area. As we kept Storm Force up here for many years it is like seeing an old freind! The wind died behind Inch island and as we emerged we could see a good few other boats making for our favourite anchorage too! In the end it was a touch crowded with 8 boats in there but we anchored no problem next door to Blue Mistral. I thought I recognised it and realised it was the same boat we had berthed next to in Castle Bay Barra last Year! They recognised us too! They had their two lovely collies in board which made me miss Molly ☹️. I remember her being here when she was a little puppy!

  1. Meanwhile, we’re enjoying looking after her. She had a funny race around the house with Tally yesterday morning — she was running full pelt in circles around him!

    1. Oh funny Molly! She’s obviously happy and although I miss her , it is so much easier not having to worry about her in some of the situations we find ourselves in! X
