Sunday 6 June Millport to Troon 18 nm

Such a peaceful night! The first photo today was taken at 0430 this morning….just as day was dawning. Just happened to wake up and stuck my head out. Wow .. what colours! When finally waking properly, the sun was shining out of a clear blue sky. Julian cooked us a bacon and egg bap for breakfast before setting off in the dinghy for a walk around Millport. A really lovely town with a beautiful little old harbour where we tied the dinghy up. We posted Ed’s birthday card ( hope it gets there in time!) and paid our £10 in the honesty box for our overnight mooring. Walking along the front we were amazed at such a beautiful beach… the sun was blazing, it was hot and there were a few families sitting or paddle boarding… but so quiet! J bought a Sunday times and we made our way back to the boat. This little place has SO much to offer ! Cycle hire by the bucket full, quiet beach, calm shallow water and probably loads of holiday homes but we don’t know that!!!

We hoisted the sails and slipped peacefully out to sea. The wind was from southish direction but gentle around a 2 all the way. We drifted gently down the Clyde. The water sparkling light a thousand diamonds and puffy white clouds scudding over the land, what a privilege to be there. We were only going about 3 knots so arrived at Troon 4 ish. Just before we got in we were treated to an amazing dolphin show. A pod of bottle nose dolphins were playing around the boat, jumping out and breaching . Unfortunately my video skills are rubbish and I managed to leave it on “ready to go” rather than “videoing”. Silly me!

I managed my zoom chat with my lovely friends for a while on the iPad before the WiFi changed its mind and then We did a bit of cleaning above and below decks for Our next family members arriving tomorrow! 🤗

Supper was wee pies again (Alby thinks that’s hilarious) 😂. Just watching the sun go down on another lovely day on planet earth.

What I learned today: that you have to make the red circle 🔴 go to a red square in order to get a video!! Apologies, You just have to put up with a still dolphin!

Thought for our grandchildren:

How many sunrises do you think there ever been, and how many yet to come?🌅
