Monday 31 May Troon

Today was a “ doing jobs” day whilst awaiting arrival if Jenny and family from Hertford. They’re staying in the salt lodge sc apartments next to the marina. After a breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, using blue eggs from the Stanford’s…..Julian managed to fix the new Garmin chart plotter successfully onto where the other one used to be. He was jolly pleased as never likes drilling new holes in our boat! I went to Morrison’s to buy some things for the fridge including ice as we still can’t use the fridge freely until the electrician Stuart has been tomorrow 🤞 … to fit a new battery charger. Family eventually arrived after a gruelling day travelling and Isla and Alby were soooo excited about being on the boat! After chat and drinks ( and more crisps) They all went for a walk to stretch legs whilst I cooked the ready made lasagne in our little oven which I have to say performed valiantly. J and I sleeping in the forepeak tonight as Stuart arrives 0730 tomorrow!

What I learned today:

Finally a good method for making toast on a boat with no grill. Use the frying pan dry and there you go! Easy peasy.

So committing the old rusty pyramid thing to the recycling !

  1. That’s a great way of making toast. Also, you can make cheese toasties in a frying pan just as you would in a sandwich toaster, except you need to turn it halfway.
