30 May 2021 Shrewsbury to Troon 278 miles

Setting off on another adventure. After a winter of lockdown and the coldest May on record, it felt good to be going back to our boating life . We left our lovely house Sitters in charge of everything at home but of course mainly our pets, Molly, Prudence and Tally. Before leaving, Katharine being a IT pro sorted my WordPress thing out do it should be easier blogging this year! The journey was of course tedious as it’s s bank holiday weekend. Thought we were being clever looking at a ( paper) map and avoiding the hold up on he M6…. turned out we’d have been quicker staying on the motorway ☹️ Anyway got to Troon about 6pm maybe hour and a half later than we’d anticipated. No worries… still plenty of time to unpack before heading up to Scotts for a meal. We’d put most of the stuff on the boat 2 weeks ago so pretty much set to go!

A poignant day as it would have been dads 95th birthday. His encouragement and enthusiasm for my daily blog last year is what made me diligently stick at it. I’d love to think his love of Scotland means he’s looking on in anticipation and with us all the way.

What I learned today:

Sadly to trust google Maps app as opposed to trusty AA map book!
