The wind raged all night. We were healed over even tied up to the pontoon but still felt safe so slept on and off through it. We woke to a slightly brighter grey sky than normal which we thought hopeful! Soon we were to realise that most of the uk were experiencing temperatures of 30 + by way of various messages. Never mind. Had one of Julian’s amazing cooked breakfasts before setting of to explore. We have been here before but the last time I was here must be getting on for 10 years. There were no pontoons then just a couple of mooring buoys near the lochboisdale hotel. We went ashore by tying the dinghy up to some metal steps by the gantry for the ferry terminal and off we went for a meal at the hotel. We came back to find the rising tide had wedged the dinghy firmly under the steps ! We must have got it out eventually but Can’t remember exactly. Sadly the hotel is closed atm because of COVID and looking decidedly run down. Do hope it will weather the storm. We did a little circuit of the village and found the dilapidated old school house Built in 1909 , you just wonder what those children’s lives were like. I went and bought a map from a little gift and information shop, but there was nothing else open. The cal Mac ferry which goes to/fro malaig was in harbour but it didn’t appear that there were many tourists about. The weather was still windy with showers so we returned to the boat to do laundry and other jobs. I chatted with the french couple who were in the next door boat who had come all the way from Brittany. Finally the sun came out and we were able to sit in the cockpit for about an hour before it went again. At least the wind has dropped and there is peace at last.
What I learned today ……………….identified a Pipet(not sure which type)! I think . which landed on our boat and looked in through the galley window ! I could be wrong though! Happy to be corrected !

Is it a pipit?
You look so happy sue, life on the sea suits you; the school however looks really grim! I’ll get back to you on the pipit, it looks black and white, which I’m not sure is right for pipits. It wasn’t a wagtail was it?
