A pretty uncomfortable night. The tide and wind combined to cause a disturbing swell and a lot of slapping against the hull up to about 0300☹️ J got up to make sure all okay. Eventually it all settled down and we got some sleep. Bacon and egg bap for breakfast whilst watching the seal families.Continue reading “Wednesday 23 June Ardmore islands to Lowlandmans bay Jura 15 nm”

Happy birthday Alice!!! It’s been a long day . Longer for Julian who stayed up to keep anchoR watch right through the night. Thursday 24 June. Lowlandmans bay to Craighouse on Jura 5nm
This may seem a very short journey but our reason was to get supplies from Craighouse and top up water etc. Also there’s forecast a 30 kt +blow from the north west and before that rain and poor visibility. Not a great forecast for going a long way, even though our temptation was to getContinue reading “Thursday 24 June. Lowlandmans bay to Craighouse on Jura 5nm”
Tuesday 22 June West Loch Tarbert to The Ardmore islands Islay 32 nm

Saturday 19 June Troon to Sanda island 50 nm
Today was thankfully good weather for going round the Mull… or at least the first leg. Favourable conditions meant we could stop overnight at Sanda, the only stopover recommended on the way. Today was a “doing jobs “ day, getting ready for setting off for the western isles tomorrow. The weatherContinue reading “Friday 18 June Troon”

It rained all night. There was an annoying drip onto the deck above which kept us or at least me awake . In the morning it had at least stopped but everything is damp yet again.
