A short hop. We’re on our way back to Troon tomorrow. The end of our journey. No wind to speak of. It was lovely just to be up early. The wind had gone round to the NE in the night, as forecast. We upped the anchor and motored out. We had bacon and egg sandwiches and coffee. Goat fell on Arran was as clear as I’ve seen it. It had a little rainbow 🌈 poking up from the right hand side, though we only had a few spots of rain. we hugged the coast and enjoyed the views. As we approached the corner of the Isle of Bute, we could see what looked like a submarine in the distance. It was. It got bigger which meant it was coming up the Clyde where they dock them. Having had this happen before we knew what was coming when the black police rib approached us just off Glencallum bay on the bottom corner of Bute. They just asked if we’d mind waiting whilst the submarine passed by. We stooged around in Glencallum bay, which looks like a lovely anchorage and one where we haven’t been yet. The little lighthouse on the corner giving an obvious Starboard mark. Once the submarine had gone, we made our way to Millport and picked up a mooring in the bay. As we arrived early Julian rowed ashore to get the Sunday paper and the rest of the morning was spent relaxing. I had a plan for the afternoon which involved getting a “ grand tourer” from one of the bike hire shops here. As it’s a small island with a coast road I thought it would be a good idea! Unfortunately it was extremely hard work! And I don’t think anyone enjoyed it!☹️. Afterwards we had a ice cream and a beer at a spectacularly seedy pub! Shame as last visit we remember it as being lovely! Aw well. Returning to Angelique Julian did a few jobs and then cooked lovely vegetarian curry. The TV wouldn’t work properly so we gave up with that.Thinking about tomorrow and wondering 🤔.
What I learned today…… Should’ve chosen bikes…….😂 Oh yes … and the log stopped working again, so I take it back that it only happens in warm water!
