Sunny with clouds. A definite nip in the air compared to Scilly, but lovely nonetheless. Stan had slept ok on the couch and was up making a brew. He had become particularly well acquainted with the bus timetable the day before, and was therefore the person on the ball when it came to organising our day trip to Wexford. The Phillips had to catch a bus from there to Dublin so we all thought a outing by bus would be good. Sue P had done some research and found that they ran every 10 minutes 🤔 or was it that it took 10 minutes 🤔. Who knows?!?! We got the 1040 at 1050 ( having missed the one 10 minutes earlier) , and made our way through the pretty countryside to Wexford. Getting off at the train station stop about 40 minutes later, we had hoped we would be able to leave Sue and Tim’s luggage there, but sadly not. Nothing for it but to lug it around whilst we explored Wexford…… which was lovely! A tidal river estuary With a wide span bridge. The town was really quaint with old narrow streets buzzing with people. Shops galore and people sitting out in the streets drinking coffee and chatting. We had a coffee at Franks and rested the bag carriers, before doing a very small sightseeing circuit of Wexford. Finally eating at a lovely traditional Irish pub, called Centenary Stores. It was sad to say bye to Tim and Sue, as they waited at the bus station on their way to Dublin. The three of us got a taxi back to Kilmore Quay in the late afternoon sunshine. Julian went up to the chandlers to try and find some bolts, whilst I cooked up a fish supper from the leftover fish we couldn’t finish last night. ‘‘Twas delicious “. Julian had said he’d help Falkert tomorrow morning, as he was leaving at 0700, and us not long after, so we were in bed early.
What I learned today…… from Stan …. all about the Various bus routes and timetables in This part of the world !
