Another nice morning. There was not much wind so we motor sailed most of the way. No matter, the sky was blue and it was peaceful looking at the coastal scenery . As we approached the turning into Plymouth entrance, the wind picked up so we were able to sail into the sound and on towards the marina. This is a bit of a homecoming, as it was here that we originally set eyes on Angelique, and where we sailed in our initial few years of owning her. We passed the entrance to the Beautiful Yealm river and looked across to Kingsands / Cawsands, where hopefully we’ll be anchored tomorrow. We had hoped to go back to Plymouth Yacht haven but they couldn’t fit us in as they’re hosting a regatta for a fleet of J 24 s. So…. we’re going to Queen Anne’s Battery instead. We need to be on a pontoon as we’re having a rigging check tomorrow. We’d noticed some chafing of the main halyard and Also that the mast was bending off to leeward more than J thought it should have been…. when beating into heavy winds. So that was booked for 0830 in the morning! We were told to moor up on the visitor pontoon behind Emily Morgan. A very beautiful yacht that does charters to the Caribbean if anyone’s interested! We’d hoped to fill up with fuel as well, whilst here but unfortunately the pump wasn’t working because of some IT glitch. We had showers and then a beer in the bar overlooking the marina, which is beautifully situated apart from the fact there’s a car park in between. We ate aboard… smoked salmon and salad. It’s sooo nice having this fantastic weather!!!
What I learned today…. that Boris had finally seen sense and agreed to resign. We listened with interest to the radio which had good reception . So what now for this country of ours? 🤔
