Tuesday 14 June . Woolverstone.

IToday, waking up to sunshine and a cloudless blue sky, it does finally feel like we’re on holiday! The atmosphere is dry and warm. There is no condensation running down the walls and I haven’t had to wipe the windows dry ( on the inside) for days. First job after breakfast was laundry… so exciting not to have to do tumble drying, but everything can be pegged out on the guard rail. Still two trips as I hadn’t taken coins up, given everything else here has been made ultra contactless! Then they weren’t sure they could exchange a Scottish bank note! But they examined it closely and on deciding it was indeed plastic, gave me the pound coins I needed . We were excited that Angie our friend from Cambridge was coming today so did a little bit of tidying! Julian had made contact with Dolphin sails and they were more than happy to drive from Harwich to see us and have a look at the track for the cockpit tent. The one that broke up in the Orkneys. Angie arrived at 1 pm and it was so exciting to see her! We showed her round and sat in the sunshine chatting and drinking coffee. The kind man from Dolphin arrived, and talked through the various options. Then it was lunchtime at the Loch and Quay, a great little restaurant bar, overlooking the marina. We had filled baguettes and salad. Some of us had chips too! Later on , Angie kindly took us to Asda and we did a big shop replenishing dwindling cupboards. Asda is basically in Ipswich. Quite a lot of the roads were closed so we had to detour around the suburbs. There is obviously a lot of industry around the docks and containers are everywhere. Coming back we took Angie just to see Pin Mill which we thought was so pretty yesterday. Living in Cambridge, it would be a lovely day out. We unloaded the shopping into the marina trolley and hung onto it down to the pontoons as it was low water. ( just means the gangway down to the pontoons, is at a much greater angle!) ie very steep ! Sadly we said our farewells to Angie and waved her off. No need for anything much for supper and we had a quiet evening just Julian, Sue P and me.

What I have learned today….. ginsters pasties are back to £1.00 each after reaching the extortionate price of £2.30 in Whitby co-op!😳
