We had a lie in and breakfast. I then partook of the shower, given we were going out for the day! The HM Bertie, was very helpful. The harbour office and facilities are all being “ done up” so in a state of half “ done up ness”. The shower was fine once the workmen had removed enough of their dust sheets to get in, and although there was no electric light working, bless them ; they had provided a torch on a chair. Once I’d put my pound in I couldn’t work out how to start it, so had to redress ( money running down) and sought help from the builder who Kindly helped. Putting some switch on to start the shower! Jon and Julian spent the time trying to sort out the bits that needed fixing, drilling out cockpit tent runner things etc. We eventually got into his car and made our way across the beautiful countryside to his home which is a house with outbuildings in many acres of land….. basically in the middle of everywhere. On the way , we stopped at the AMAZING spotty bag shop ( even has its own brown sign!) to find some appropriate bolts for the cockpit tent. Had to include a bolt for a stable door but who cares! I also got a long sought after, sock drier Thing. Exciting.
t was calm and sunny. We sat on the swing seat drinking white wine in the sun and had a bbq. The kids came home from school. It couldn’t have been more normal. They have a lovely home, with dogs and cats and chickens and rabbits and sheep. It couldn’t have been further from wind and waves. Jon has managed to find somewhere where he could pick up an accumulator for the water pressure, so was going to fetch it tomorrow whilst we were sailing to Peterhead. A lovely day and we were sad to leave but needed to get back to sleep as leaving 0500 tomorrow ☹️
What I learned today…….. that I could take a real close up of the writing on the accumulator tank , by using my normal camera on macro. Which couldn’t be done on a mobile phone.! A coup for old technology!
