It had been a peaceful night and the water was calm. We let go our big friendly orange mooring buoy and headed for the bridge. Some bridges you have to work out lots of maths to make sure you’ll fit under, but this one is high enough not to worry. Heading out from this point really does seem like a gateway and that we’re leaving civilisation behind. The next “Town “ will be Stromness! 😬 . Still a cold Northerly wind blowing about force 3 so we started tacking up the Inner sound, past the Crowlin Islands, past Raasay and Rona on the left, and all the stunningly majestic mountains of Torridon on the Right. The edge of the grey band of cloud above us, got gradually nearer and eventually we were in icy sunshine. Tacking all day means the boat is going towards the wind and it was cold and physically demanding. We were glad to eventually turn into Gairloch where we knew there were visitors moorings at Badachro. By this time it was 1915 and we were too tired to get the dinghy off and go to the pub. Maybe tomorrow. We’ve also got to sort the navionics plotter business out and fix the gas and go up the mast……😳 tomorrows another day…
What I learned today…… That you ONLY need exactly 500ml in the kettle for 2 mugs of tea….. not just wang on the tap…..😑

The Badachro inn is worth a visit……great pub grub when we were there last June.
The Pie shop in Lochinver should not be missed either if you choose to stop there, a nice little village.

Haha 😂! Not his fault! Fixed because J hadn’t downloaded the whole maps … not sure how that happened. Anyway it’s come back but strangely slightly different!!!…..🤔. Garmin were helpful once the Bank holiday over!
