Saturday 31 July. Millport to Troon via Brodick 30 nm

We let go our mooring about 0815 . Skies still pretty black. It’s very rare to see the top of Goat fell on Arran ….. and we still couldn’t. We returned to Troon via Brodick where we picked up a mooring just for a coffee break. Last year we had a particularly unpleasant stay in Brodick due to wind shift in the night so it was good for me to get back on the horse! As it were. Calm as anything we had our coffee before setting our sites and sails ….across the water to Troon. It was a bit of a roly ride home with the wind pretty much from behind. Glad once again of the outer harbour in Troon so you don’t have to take your mainsail down in a massive on shore swell.

It turned out to be a beautiful evening for our last evening. We had booked a meal at Scott’s and were lucky enough to get the best table in the restaurant….. overlooking the marina with views out to sea.

Home tomorrow. What a fabulous time we’ve had. So many good things to remember and to treasure. These are the times to hold onto………..
