Friday 23 July. Oban to Ardencaple bay 10 nm

We had to get fresh stuff and stuff from Aldi …. also camping gaz. All up that side it town . Just took the little trolley this time, and the rucksacks, and the bags. It was sooo hot! Posted cards to the grandchildren on the way. we are thinking of trying to change from camping gaz to calor gas. C gaz Is getting more and more scarce , and it’s VERY expensive. The can is a slightly bigger, different shaped canister, but J thinks they might fit on their sides in the gas locker. Trouble Is we’d have to move all the other stuff that’s in there…. the petrol for the outboard, the mats and the dogs Astro turf☹️. On the way back I went into shop to look at a print/ painting that I’d wanted for a year… of the sound of Mull…and J liked it too so we bought it!

Sue and Tim arrived on time 1342! We had drinks and before long we were under way to escape the hustle and bustle and get back to quiet anchorage. Unfortunately, due to it being Friday, school holidays and beautiful Weather… everyone else had the same idea, pouilladobhrain was full to overflowing…. think we counted 24 boats in there! Having bobs charts we decided to go for a more secluded second choice. He mentioned a few nearby and we went for ardencaple bay. A pretty location that we definitely wouldn’t have known about but for Antares. Just goes to show how inaccurate some of the navionics charts are when looking at minute detail of depths… a rock supposed to be out of he water ( ie yellow on chart) was actually s submerged rock only appearing 2 hours after we anchored. Makes it quite worryingly confusing! Anyway had a lovely supper and enjoyed a peaceful calm sunsetty evening with our friends.

What I learned today…..The relative measurements of a calor gas cylinder as supposed to s camping gaz one🤔
