We left Ardlanish in order to get to tinkers hole mid morning. Not particularly cos of the tides but since it’s a popular anchorage we wanted to get there before the crowds. It’s quite small and the swinging rooms not great. We motored the entire journey of 10 nm . Stony islands littered the landscape…. glad it’s calm…..When we turned in towards it.. you would think you’re driving into a stone wall. 😳 again without a boat sat nav…. who would?! Once inside however all is peace and calm. There was one other boat anchored called “ Murmur “. Another nice sandy bottom secured the anchor well. amazing surroundings of stone walls created a very enclosed feeling. Our friends on Blue Mistral had said it was s nice walk over the top of the hill to see David Balfour bay…. a beautiful white sand pristine bay . As the crow flew probably only half s mile walk. We took the dinghy and tried to land but everywhere is rocky……. big boulder type rocks. The whole terrain must have been a result of the ice age. All jumbles of big boulders scattered on top of each other. Eventually J deposited me on shore and I tried to walk the short distance. Unfortunately although there was a vague path, the bracken was almost as tall as me and like beating your way through a jungle. Eventually I gave up my quest. I climbed to the top a a rock to get a good view of the boats and picked some lucky heather for Angelique. Arwen had turned up coincidentally and anchored nearby and I could see them all from my cliff. Julian came to pick me up and we went back on board. We still had no Signal or WiFi and even hoisting my phone up the mast didn’t work despite it saying 4g! After another session of trying to fix our boat electronics with Nigel, it was time for supper. Quiche salad and potatoes 😋 before a night cap on Arwen.
What I learned today …. anything to do with communications / electrics/ electronics on a boat is frustrating at best…….
