Sunday 4 July Salen Jetty to Loch Aline 20 nm

We had a bit of a lazy morning. Managed to get a Sunday paper from the little shop. We had coffee on Arwen before demonstrations from Brenda and Nigel of their various mooring tools. Very impressive! We said our goodbyes and slipped our lines around lunchtime .. it was a bit warm and sultry and although I don’t remember seeing them I did get a few midge bites. We motored and sailed for the next few hours. The weather getting a bit gloomy. We decided to head for Loch Aline in the sound of Mull as the timings of tide and direction of wind fitted better to go that way round Mull ie clockwise ( with N as 12)

Arriving 5 ish we anchored near the moored boats in the south of the Loch And prepared supper of leftover spag Bol . The wind was doing its normal going round in circles and after sitting watching for a while we decided to re anchor. Probably over sensitive since the Craighouse episode. It then started to rain and we changed our minds to picking up a visitor mooring over near the little marina ……good as it turned out since the weather was going to get yucky overnight and there were plenty available.

What I learned today…. all about clippy lines and snappy ducks? Brenda!? Oh yes and how to spell Drumbuie 😊 Sue x
