A day of getting stuff done. Having been away from civilisation for a while we needed to do lots of jobs and sort stuff out. Julian’s laptop had stopped working again. ☹️ , so he went off to try and get that fixed somewhere near where the gaz was to be purchased. Hence doing both on one trip. I was pleased to find that the mandarin laundry had survived Covid and yet again gave a brilliant service. I left my bag of laundry there in the morning and about 3 pm picked it up washed , dried , folded and smelling wonderful! I put the covers back on the duvets and having aired them in the sunshine ….. all lovely and clean! I Met Julian on his way back and I wanted to post some cards. Laptop deposited awaiting fixing, we made our way once more to Tesco. This time with Clubcard app downloaded in order to get all the discounts!
Oban was absolutely buzzing . Last year when we were here it was a sad and dejected place in the grip of the pandemic. Not much was open and it all seemed quite sad. The architecture is an amazing mix of Victorian gothic…. turrets and all, as well as 30 s Art Deco. All looks freshly painted and pristine. Today there are masses of people about.. obviously on holiday and with the sun shining a vibrant place to be. Back on the boat I put the shopping away and filled the water tanks whilst J went to fetch his computer…. fixed but not diagnosed so maybe it’ll happen again…
Then it was time for a drink and watch the football. England vs Germany. What a welcome result and I’m sure an uplifting one for the whole country. We were going to get fish and chips but decided as it was such a lovely evening to have smoked salmon salad with new potatoes on board!
England 2: Germany 0 🤗
What I learned today: England can beat Germany! Sorry Frances! Sue x
