Sunday 13 and Monday 14 June. Troon… ish

A couple of days rest to revitalise , do jobs and generally sort ourselves out before heading off to ( all being well) the west coast. Julian went into town first thing to get the Sunday paper whilst I had yet another lie in! It was excited that the computer was working again. I actually can’t remember what I did🤔 oh yes , I washed our bed linen and put it on the guard rail to dry ( saving the planet and £4) also got some good for a nice salad supper…. with garlic. Chilli prawns and smoked salmon. Julian plumbed in the new engine starter battery… we have one battery exclusively for starting the engine which is never used for domestic stuff like lights or fridge. The electrician had said it looked a bit “ropey” . Unfortunately we could only find one that fitted the box it sits in but had slightly less ampage but it should be fine🙄. So I’m told….

The Euro’s are on and England best Croatia 1:0 so J was enjoying watching that whilst I had a lovely chat on zoom with my girlfriends.

Monday morning dawned pretty windy and sadly s bit gloomy . J gave me the bad news that the computer had stopped working again 😰 the weather was decidedly cold and windy but we decided it would be s good day to visit Dumfries house about half an hour away. J also wanted to get some new spanner’s and some connecting terminal clamps for the battery????? Dumfries house has beautiful gardens which are free to get into and walk round. It was a really lovely place to visit. Thanks for the suggestion Paul! The house and grounds is owned by the princes trust ( Prince Charles) and is kept in immaculate condition. Before leaving we had tea, scones and jam in the court yard cafe! How gentile… not like sailing at all!

This evening Julian washed the car and I made flapjack on board! First attempt at on the boat baking. It’s presently cooling down in the cockpit!

What I learned today: boat ovens very hot so flapjacks need about 4 minutes less than normal …
