Not a particularly comfortable night . As were were near the outer limit of the marina, we weren’t very protected from the very strong gusty wind that had sprung up overnight. Getting off the berth was potentially a bit f s nightmare as we had another boat outside us which we had to avoid getting blown onto. With carefully worked out slip lines and help from both neighbours , The final manoeuvre went surprisingly well!!! Once out in the bay, it all seemed quite peaceful. Typical! We had a cracking sail home as the wind was increasingly from the west so we were going quickly and both A and W did great helming in tough waves with wind behind. We came down the firth of Clyde between great Cumbrae and little Cumbrae and then East to Troon. We got back around 4 ish and enjoyed going to Morrison’s and buying nice stuff for tea! Once all the jobs were done we enjoyed the evening sitting in the cockpit having bit of a celebration bubbly with nibbles! After salmon spuds and peas we played perudo and J won!!!
What I learned today… must concentrate on getting reefing right as I seem to have a mental block on the subject……🙄
