Friday 4 June Troon to Troon ….again

Julian having tried fixing his computer by removing the battery completely and running it off the mains has reluctantly given up! He handed his pc over to a Troon Computer doctor and we’re waiting to hear whether there’s been any progress. The battery for the starter engine also arrived at the marina. Unfortunately it’s less ampage than the previous one but it’s the right size volume wise! We’re not quite sure whether it will matter..Trixi was responding to her Bluetooth app earlier today but now has ceased to do so☹️. Sigh…..

After breakfast the family joined us and after sorting the lines with Rob, we set off for another day sail. A whole colony of Eider ducks live in the outer basin. I presume that’s what eider downs were originally made from? The sea was lumpy outside the harbour probably a 3-4 so we only put the headsail up to minimise hassle and noise. We thought the children might feel unwell todayI due to the conditions but they were good! Alby didn’t bat an eyelid and both enjoyed the ginger biscuits bought specially to ward off seasickness! When we got back to the marina they all had fun messing around in the dinghy with hilarious attempts st rowing! Julian put them both in the bosuns chair… not together!.. and hoisted them up the mast which of course they loved. We had an early evening meal at Scott’s which was lovely, thank you Evans’s! Everyone tired and going for an early bedtime.

What I learned today

All about eider ducks
