An odd day. A perfect sailing day but we didn’t go sailing. We joined the family for breakfast up at Scott’s and I just had a cup of tea whilst Julian had s bacon bap and a cup of coffee! It’s a nice restaurant. Modern but friendly and informal. After breakfast we did some pretty successful crabbing on the pontoons…. the water is clear up here and it means you can see the crabs moving towards the bacon. More fun than catching them! Loads of sealife and little fish around. I get very anxious about crab welfare these days so we only kept them in the bucket for a few minutes before putting them back. The weather was hot and breezy and it was decided that a walk to the royal Troon golf club would be a good idea ! Of course it took twice as long as anticipated but stopped for ice cream on the way and played crazy golf on the way back. Getting back around 4ish , We were going to go out for a short sail but the wind was getting up and no particular enthusiasm so J made an executive decision to not go! Instead they went for a swim whilst I made pasta bake and salad for supper. Alice phoned whilst playing the game so she joined in a bit via speaker phone. Played the categories game….. an old favourite on the boat … pick s letter and the first to think of the answer to the category (!this time made up by Isla) gets the category. Kept us going way past bedtime. The kids stayed on board in the forepeak with us and eventually went to sleep! I actually managed to get my phone to connect with Bluetooth trixi! She was whirring all night but strangely comforting so I didn’t brake her! Just hope at less one of us can keep in touch with her😐. Nice to have full power restored via our new battery charger! Tomorrow I have to brace myself for a trip to Kilmarnock to get The document Alice needs for her house purchase whilst leaving Julian to feed the grandchildren breakfast!
What I learned today :
I don’t really enjoy the seaside kiosk feel. Just wanna be out in the open water surrounded by nature…………..actually come to think of it, I learned that years ago…🤔
