Pwllheli to porthdinllaen 8hrs

Today we finally set off on our little cruise. Not quite what we were anticipating 3 months ago but glad we can at least as far as Scotland…hopefully! As tides move on a hour a day out plan was to leave Pwllheli at 1200. Alice and I went to Asda to buy essentials that had been forgotten such as porridge , batteries and more wine. Julian stayed on the boat and sorted the plotter out with Mr electronic Rowlands …it’s now sorted! After that it was boat preparation and getting ready to go…. in a missley drizzly Wales. Grey grey grey!

It was sad to say bye to Alice. She came to wave us off from the end of the creek. I’ll post her video of us leaving.

Weather perked up a little and wind okay to blow us to the tuds. Thankfully Julian noticed I’d omitted to replace the water cap after filling the tanks so might have slightly salty cups if tea from now on! 😬 oops!

Bardsey sound was quite and as the wind was coming from the west we had to tack through it. Wind then died completely so had to use the engine for last 3 hours. Now anchored in lovely bay of Nefyn on north coast of lleyn peninsula. Bit rocky roly though so have stuffed cushions into the crockery and pan cupboards…. otherwise they crash around all night … very off putting!! off to Holyhead in the morning
