Tuesday 14 July

Lovely day! Weather fair and could even be referred to as sunny for a while! Set off at 11 am . Its neap tides so we got out as soon as we felt able but it’s very shallow in the Channel and the depth beeper was going the whole time. Once out it was perfect sailing conditions for once…. gentle breeze and flat water as the wind was in the north. We put the reefs in and out ( I can never remember what order to do it all in☹️) and everything seemed to work. I know it’ll be different when we’re doing it for real on a topsy turvy sea!

Sailed out beyond the tuds …. one of the islands where Bear Grills lives, to a lovely bay called Ceriad bay. Anchored and had smoked salmon sandwiches and crisps for lunch. We spent many a happy time in this bay when going back 17 years when we first had Storm Force. Angie and Kate may also remember it!Alice remembered catching a massive spider crab there which wouldn’t fit in the bucket. On leaving the bay we had the treat and privilege of a pod of dolphins joining us. It’s so amazing to be near them and feel there is a connection.

Back on the marina and supper of veggie chilli followed by monopoly deal and scrabble 😊 Sue x
